Mid-Life Players presents SUPPRESSED DESIRES – a Musical Cabaret!!!

Have you ever wanted to sing a great song from a musical, but know that you’ll never get the opportunity because the song is sung by someone of the opposite sex, different age, or ethnicity? Well, now is your chance! In the spirit of Broadway Backwards or Miscast, Mid-Life Players is holding auditions for “Suppressed Desires – a Musical Cabaret”.
Please audition with 16 measures of two songs that you’d like to perform in the show, one up tempo and one ballad. Joy Richardson, with assist from Dottie Bartlett will be putting the show together. If you are not available on the 31st, please submit a video audition with your 2 selections by 7/31. Ensembles, duets and trios are encouraged to audition. Auditionee must provide accompaniment sheet music in the key to be performed.
If cast, they will decide which of your songs will work best in the show. This will have one “dress” rehearsal on Friday, August 26, with one performance on Saturday, August 27, at Trinity Community Church, 5010 Parallel Pkwy, Kansas City, KS. Individual rehearsals can be scheduled with our accompanist, Debbie Goddard.

A Chorus Line, A Retrospective Concert!

A Chorus Line, A Retrospective Concert!
January 28-31 2016
The Just Off Broadway Theatre

“A Chorus Line”, Directed by Korey Childs, Assistant Director Kipp Simmons, with Musical Direction by Matt Richardson.

A CHORUS LINE is a stunning musical-vérité about a chorus audition for aBroadway musical. It tells of the achingly poignant ambitions of professional Broadway gypsies to land a job in the show, and is a powerful metaphor for all human aspiration. Memorable musical numbers include: I Can Do That, At the Ballet, Dance: Ten; Looks: Three, The Music and the Mirror, What I Did for Love, One (Singular Sensation) and I Hope I Get It. It is a brilliantly complex fusion of dance, song and compellingly authentic drama. The show was instantly recognized as a classic.
