A Chorus Line, A Retrospective Concert!

A Chorus Line, A Retrospective Concert!
January 28-31 2016
The Just Off Broadway Theatre

“A Chorus Line”, Directed by Korey Childs, Assistant Director Kipp Simmons, with Musical Direction by Matt Richardson.

A CHORUS LINE is a stunning musical-vérité about a chorus audition for aBroadway musical. It tells of the achingly poignant ambitions of professional Broadway gypsies to land a job in the show, and is a powerful metaphor for all human aspiration. Memorable musical numbers include: I Can Do That, At the Ballet, Dance: Ten; Looks: Three, The Music and the Mirror, What I Did for Love, One (Singular Sensation) and I Hope I Get It. It is a brilliantly complex fusion of dance, song and compellingly authentic drama. The show was instantly recognized as a classic.

Casting Call for Director/Music Director or a Director AND Music Director

The Mid-Life Players is seeking…

Director/Music Director or a Director AND Music Director for its first show of 2016, A CHORUS LINE in concert.

PROCESS: Submit an email of application to mid-lifeplayers@hotmail.com, along with your resume. Please indicate your vision for the production, for the Mid-Life Players perform concert style, script in hand. Therefore, we don’t dance or have a fully staged production. This show will require someone with a creative vision on how to convey this story with minimal “movement” or what we call “stand-ography”. We rehearse only twice a week. A small stipend is available.

Performance dates are January 28-31, 2016 at the Penn Valley Room of the Just Off Broadway Theatre. Rehearsals would begin the week of November 16, 2015.

DEADLINE TO APPLY: July 27, 2015

INTERVIEWS: Will be scheduled for the first part of August by appointment.
